Liquid Images/ [A]reale

Between photo/ video/ and sound art

Liquid Images are composed of photo series of objects or areas. These series are compiled on the computer using complex algorithms to create an image that develops very slowly and then fades away again. At least 90% of the aesthetics of the images are created during the act of photography.

Each Liquid Image is linked to a soundtrack, forming an inseparable unit with it. It can be songs, voices, soundscapes, compositions, depending on which facet of the Liquid Image moves the sound artist. I call the complete work [A]reale.

But the reverse direction of development also exists; first the sound concept is finished, then the Liquid Image is developed. Or both recordings are made at the same time.

[A]reale are mainly realised as installations, in the context of concerts and exhibitions. The slideshow on the right gives impressions of such installations. Click into the pictures to show the corresponding [A]reale.

If you would also like to have a Liquid Image at home, have a look at "gallery". There is a description of how this is possible.
